Announcing a one-night-only event at S.P.A.C.E Gallery in Burlington on Friday May 7th from 5-9pm, entitled Wylie Sofia Garcia: A Review, One Night Only. The exhibit is a review of recent work by Wylie Sofia Garcia that is intended for two installations set to open in June out west at Garbageman Astronaut Gallery in Portland, Oregon and Beulah Gallery in Olema, California. The work is primarily textile-related and is inspired by Vermont Historical Societies as well as notions of traditional craft making. It is however, not what one would expect to find from traditional craft or a typical historical Society. The work is more like Hysterial Society meets extreme sewing obsession. Since the work is destined for other venues, S.P.A.C.E. and Garcia thought it would be nice to give the work a sneek peek debut in Vermont where it was inspired and made. So please join us for this one night only event, it's going to be great!
