Teaching art to children from Kindergarten through 12th grade is complex and demanding. A teacher of art in the schools must have many abilities that are attained through study and experience. The seven student teachers represented have studied studio art, art history, educational psychology, current art education theory and practice, and have spent many hours in school classrooms observing and teaching.

The artwork in this exhibit was done by Kindergarten through 12th grade students who come from Burlington, South Burlington, Essex, Essex Junction, and Shelburne public schools. In these lessons, the student teachers encourage personal expression, problem solving, critical thinking, and artistic growth.
