You Have Less Than 12 Days to Expose Yourself

Call to artists: "Id - The Object of Self"

Deadline: August 22, 2012 - Midnight EST
Juror: You and Cig Harvey
Darkroom Gallery, Essex Junction, VT

Photographers strive to reveal something about their subjects. But what happens when the photographer is the subject? That's what "Id - The Object of Self" is all about.

With the self portrait, photographers are not only responsible for making a wonderful image but also take on the challenge of exposing themselves to the camera and final viewer. The photographer must offer some insight into themselves. Some find it easy; for others, it's difficult. If you try, you will learn. If you succeed, You can be transformed. If you seek inspiration, take a look at the work of Francesca Woodman. Her self-portraits are remarkably revealing.

The jury process for this exhibition will have two phases. For a week - probably the most critical jurors possible - the submitters, will choose a pool that will make up the exhibition. Then Juror Cig Harvey will select the juror's choice and honorable mentions from that pool. Details and to make a submission, read more here.
