Call to Artists: Fifth annual Exhibition at Grafton




Fine Art Exhibition to be Held August 26-September 7 in Grafton, Vermont

Grafton, Vt .— A Call for Artists has been issued to all area artists interested in exhibiting in the fifth annual Exhibition at Grafton 2011, a fine art exhibition to be held August 26-September 7 in Grafton, Vt. Applications are available and are due by July 8.

The juried show is seeking to display the work of practicing artists of sculpture in the round or who paint in oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, or mixed elements of these media.

Candidates will need to submit CDs of the work they wish to display by July 8, for review by the Jury Committee. All artists will be notified by the beginning of August.

The juried collection of work will be on display from August 26 through September 7 in Grafton Village at the Phelps Barn of The Old Tavern at Grafton and the Hunter Gallery of Fine Art. One best in show award and three merit awards will be given at a special reception for artists and the public on August 27.

The ambiance and colonial setting of the town make a picturesque background for artists to display their best current work at a time when people can stroll and enjoy the town. Grafton, Vermont has been called one of the top 10 beautiful places in America by USA Today. The small, working town of 600 boasts three separate art galleries.
