Claire’s Restaurant in Hardwick, VT continues its exhibition program with an exhibit of paintings by Vermont artist David Smith. Smith’s oil paintings concern themselves with light and its interplay with the world. He chooses to work in a representational style because of the challenges he finds in pushing boundaries and looking in a alternative way. According to Smith,“The point of view in my approach is not as an observer of a scene, but as a participant.”David Smith’s paintings will be on view at Claire’s from June 2 until August 4, 2009.
