JDK Design showcases sculpture with an Opening Night Art Hop reception.

Burlington-based artist, Clark Russell, exhibits new wall sculptures at The JDK Gallery, 47 Maple Street. The exhibited work is made of aluminum and stainless steel industrial cutouts bent, shaped, twisted, cut, combined, composed, drilled and bolted together. A graduate of UVM, Clark Russell has created artwork for 25 years, had solo exhibitions in his original hometown of St. Louis, in New York City and locally at The Fleming Museum. He has been an artist-in-residence at the Firehouse Center in Burlington, directed the performance art group, Safari 500, He plays music with the bands, Blowtorch and Recon. Of the JDK installation, Russell warns, “The wall sculptures do not attempt to describe, represent, suggest, or symbolize. Experience as you wish, interpret at your risk.”

The exhibition opens at the JDK gallery on September 10 with an Art Hop reception from 6:00-10:00PM. Catering support provided by the Scuffer Steak & Ale House. Regular exhibition hours will be Mon-Fri, 8:30am – 5:00pm through October 15.
