On exhibit through November 2, 2012
The WalkOver Gallery
Bristol, Vt.
A new exhibit of James Vogler's paintings, A Trail Of Breadcrumbs, will be on exhibit at the WalkOver Gallery (Bristol, Vt.) during September and October. The Imagery in this work, which springs from readings of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, distills moments of time captured in abstraction. The visual journey on the canvases depicts obstacles and clearings, much like a memory of a walk in the woods. His colors combine transparency and opacity; his forms vacillate from geometric to amorphous, creating paintings that have bold character co-existing with an intimate sensitivity. Much like a fairy tale, the viewer is given a chance to immerse in the wanderings of the artist, coming out with more questions about life rather than just answers.
