John Caggiano draws inspiration from the unique light and
changing seasons of New England, as well as from his travels both here
and abroad. He utilizes brush and palette knife in his colorful
Impressionistic Realism style of painting. " Color is the lifeblood of a
painting. Nothing stimulates more than its pleasing harmony,whether

John Caggiano was born in Brooklyn and studied pre-engineering at Brooklyn Technical High School. He received a BA from Brooklyn College and a MFA from Pratt Institute,
both with honors. His education was supplemented by courses at the
Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Studio & Forum of Stage Design in New
York. In Rockport since 1980, John is essentially a plein air painter.
