“Vermont As I See It”, an exhibit of watercolor paintings by Vermont artist, Shanley Triggs. Influenced by her life growing up on a Vermont dairy farm, Triggs' work conveys her deep connection to nature, Lake Champlain, and the Vermont landscape. Triggs' work frequently incorporates the barn, a symbol of Vermont’s history, livelihood, and stability.
Shanley Triggs, a native Vermonter, is primarily a self taught watercolor artist. She has studied art at the Community College of Vermont, participated in Vermont Week at the Vermont Studio School in Johnson and received an Artist Development Grant from the Vermont Council on the Arts for a workshop in egg tempera painting in 2007. Triggs has participated in the Arts Alive Festival of Fine Art and the BCA Center Artist Market in Burlington, received “Best in Watercolor” at For Arts Sake in Stowe, and one of her paintings was chosen for the Fletcher Allen Vermont Artist annual calendar. Triggs’ business, “Vermont H’Art”, was created in 2002 promoting and selling her originals and prints.
