Bryan Memorial Gallery's flagship exhibition Land and Light has added a new dimension this year by including the words Water and Air in the title of the show. While one cannot tell an exhibition by its title necessarily, the expansion of the title was a decision by the gallery's Exhibitions Committee, to reflect an expansion of the breadth of the exhibition. A quick glance at the ninety pieces juried into the exhibition, and the emphasis of the exhibit expands before your very eyes, while at the same time, maintaining the quality of artwork you've come to expect from this annual exhibition. Good call, Exhibitions Committee.
The exhibit, Land & Light & Water & Air, was juried by a committee of artists who remain anonymous. The Prize Juror will be a nationally recognized artist and juror whose name will be revealed after the prize jurying takes place.
Award winners will be announced on Sunday, May 15 at 3:30 PM, with the awards presented at the gallery, and simultaneously announced over the Internet. The Awards are made possible by the Alden and Mary Bryan Art Fund of the Vermont Community Foundation, and by an anonymous artist donor.
